Diane L. Miller

Diane L. Miller is an American College of Musicians Piano Guild Hall of Fame Teacher. She is both a Nationally & New York State Certified Teacher of Music – a statement of high professional standards & commitment to excellence. Her Professional Certification is in Applied Music & Piano from the Music Teachers National Association. Ms. Miller’s home studio is located in Middletown, New York where she teaches piano, voice lessons & music theory to all ages & levels including college students who can earn credit by studying privately with Ms. Miller. She holds Bachelor of Music degrees in Performance & Music Education in Piano & Voice from the Ithaca College School of Music & received a Diploma from the former Shumiatcher School of Music in Westchester County, NY where she later served on the faculty teaching both Suzuki & Conservatory approaches in piano & music theory. She offers her students performance opportunities in solo & joint recitals as well as graded & awarded adjudications. Her students consistently receive high awards & honors including scholarships to some of the finest music institutions in the world.

Ms. Miller has experience as a music teacher in the public school system teaching K-12 children in music history, music literature & music theory & Kodaly & Orff Schulwerk. She is an experienced accompanist, church pianist & choral director.

She has concertized at Steinway Hall in New York City & has performed on WNYC Radio numerous times. She has also concertized in Westchester County & in Upstate New York concert halls, theatres & churches. She was the winner of the New York State Music Teachers Association piano competition in the National Collegiate Category, District 7.

Ms. Miller was the Seminar Administrator for The Dorothy Taubman Seminar at Lincoln Center held at Manhattan's prestigious Juilliard School of Music. She currently is the Chairman of the National Guild of Piano Teachers in Middletown, NY & is a founding Teacher of and former Ambassador for The National Music Certificate Program (formerly RACE – Royal American Conservatory Exams). She is an active member of the National Federation of Music Clubs (NFMC) & serves as Chairman of the Middletown Division Annual Spring Music Festival, a position she has held since 1993. She has served on the Board of Directors and as Student Auditions Chairman for the State of New York Collegiate Level Piano Competition for NFMC. As an active member of Music Teachers National Association, District 5, she has served as Treasurer and Judges Committee Chairman for the Annual December Music Festival & has served as Music Festival Chairman for three years.
